SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — It probably isn't a huge surprise that New York river towns that birthed "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," hold plenty of Halloween hidden gems, but the season's most famous attraction is also a gateway of sorts.
Spooky season is in full swing in Sleepy Hollow country, and Historic Hudson Valley's Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze leads the way every night this month and into early November, but the the organization also hosts an impressive assortment of events every weekend in October.
This season, the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze: Hudson Valley returns to Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson for the 22nd year, and Historic Hudson Valley has "completely reimagined" the experience. The 2026 event features its longest trail of illuminated pumpkin displays in Blaze history. New additions include the Creature Feature Forest, which the organization said nods to Van Cortlandt Manor's past as a drive-in movie theater in the mid-20th century, and Literary Lane, which reimagines classic children's tales.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze may be longer than ever, but all good things must come to an end. However, that doesn't mean the eerie fun has stop.
