Bicycle path proposed on 119 from South/North Cty Trail to Bridge

If grant is approved we will be closer to goal: cyclists will be able to bike from Putnam or the Bronx to the bridge safely

The town has filed an application for a major grant that could result in a bicycle path/pedestrian path from the South County Trail and North County Trail to the Mario Cuomo bridge. The path would be on Route 119. If the grant is approved a path would be designed -a major step that will eventually enable cyclists and pedestrians to go from the Bronx or Putnam County to Rockland without having to travel on roads. A link to the town website (with a map of the path) can be found on the link below. Very exciting! A big boost to tourism and economic development.
