Biking to Work: Tarrytown Resident Rides from Home to Manhattan

Scott Bernstein rides 30 miles to work, regardless of the weather, according to The Journal News.

The Journal News has a feature about Scott Bernstein, a Tarrytown resident who is a cardiologist at New York University Medical Center, who bikes to work at least four days per week year round.

The commute is 30 miles one-way, which the physician does on a folding bike. “It’s a beautiful way to start the day,” Bernstein told The Journal News.

And he’s not alone. A growing number of people are commuting to work by bike, according to the advocacy group PeopleForBikes, which recently reached a milestone of 1 million supporters. Also, the athletic social network Strava profiled a similar 30-mile bike commuter in a YouTube video, his name is Michael Hughes from Allendale, NJ. (See the video below)
