Brentano String Quartet to Perform on September 27 in Sleepy Hollow
Friends of Music Concerts, Inc. will open their 61st season the return of the Brentano String Quartet

The Brentano String Quartet returns to the stage on Saturday, September 27 at the Kusel Auditorium at Sleepy Hollow High School. The performance begins at 8pm.
The Brentano’s program will include Mozart’s String Quartet in B-flat Major and his Quintet for Strings in G minor, as well as Mendelssohn’s Quintet for Strings in B-flat Major, Op 87. In 2012 the Quartet’s recording of Beethoven’s late quartet Op 313, was the basis of the soundtrack for the movie “A Late Quartet,” starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken and Catherine Keener.
Brentano has won public and critical praise. The New York Times described the ensemble as having a “luxuriously warm sound,” the Times of London wrote, “th Brentanos are a magnificent string quartet.” This was wonderful, selfless music-making.” Last spring the Brentano was named Quartet in Residence at the Yale School of Music, a position that starts in September.
