It was an incredible season for Sleepy Hollow as it earned a postseason berth at the Westchester County Center in White Plains for the first time in recent memory, maybe ever.
Three of its players very deservedly so earned postseason honors. They were senior guard Jamie Bucci (all-section and all-league), sophomore guard Jess Tucci (all-league) and sophomore forward Grace Carr (all-league).

Bucci was also named to the Section 1 Class A all-tournament team at the county center.
"She (Jamie) becomes maybe the first all-section girls player at Sleepy Hollow since possibly Elizabeth Godwin in 1995, if she won it then," Sleepy Hollow coach Nick Romeo said.
This season was also the first year that Sleepy Hollow girls basketball had multiple players receive all-league awards according to Romeo.
One on One
The Daily Sports Digest went on one one with Romeo. We thank him for taking the time to answer the below questions and congratulate his team and above award winners on an incredible season this winter.
1. What made Jamie Bucci the player that she was?
A. Jamie is such a special athlete because she never stops working! Every practice she goes 100 percent and makes the girls around her better. Her dedication to basketball alone is incredible.
She is a three sport all-section player but was not as good in basketball when she started. She worked on her game and her stats improved every year. All while continuing her dominant pace in soccer and softball. She truly is a special athlete.
2. Grace Carr and Jess Tucci, what enabled them to have successful seasons?
A. I think that Grace and Jess are following the game plan and what I mean by that is that these two girls both play AAU ball and continue to learn and improve their games individually and collectively. It is rewarding for them and me as a coach to see them get recognized as all-league players.
3. What does it mean to the program to have the award winners that it did?
A. What having three all-league players means to the program is that Sleepy Hollow girls basketball is finally getting recognized. It feels good to know that the girls are buying into the philospohy we have and that they are succeeding in it.
