Chef Navjot Arora's New Year's Eve Celebration Has Tables Available

Chutney Masala Chef Navjot Arora said today that reservations are still being accepted for the New Year’s Eve Bash, December 31, 2014, at RiverView in Hastings-on-Hudson. The cost is $80 per person.

The celebration begins at 8 p.m. and includes an extensive Indian dinner buffet, an open bar, a DJ entertaining all night, party favors, a belly dancer, Bollywood and Bhangra dancing, party favors, live streaming of the ball drop, and a raffle. A midnight champagne toast will welcome in the new year.

For non-party goers, the regular dinner menu will be served at the restaurant’s Irvington location.

About the chef

After graduating from culinary school, Arora accepted an offer of employment from the Taj Group, a large hospitality organization headquartered in Bombay whose 42 hotels contain some of the most prestigious restaurants in India.

He embarked on a two-year training program that exposed him to both the food and service sides of the business. Upon completion of the course, he joined the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, a luxurious hotel with eight eateries including world-class French, Chinese, Mediterranean and Indian restaurants. He remained there for ten years, advancing to key supervisory kitchen positions including Sous Chef and ran the Indian restaurant for three years.

After arriving in the United States, Arora joined the Manhattan Indian restaurant Dawat, owned by the Cafe Spice Restaurant Group. He served as Executive Chef as the organization expanded. In April 2008, he opened Chutney Masala.
