Domestic violence resources available to Greenburgh residents...
Yesterday was a sad day in Greenburgh. A murder suicide left three of our neighbors dead in the Parkway Homes section of Greenburgh. The Greenburgh police reported on News 12 that they have "reason to believe that this was an isolated domestic violence incident". If you are worried about domestic violence in your family the most important thing to know is that you are not alone. There are many resources available. Acting early and safely can prevent them.

If you feel that someone is in immediate danger call the police. Or 911. Leave the home if you can do so safely. Go to a neighbor, public place or somewhere with people. Teach children how to dial the police and where to go. Keep keys, phone, ID and some cash that is easy to have access to. Come up with a safety plan for yourself.

If you suspect someone could be a victim be supportive. The National Domestic violence hotline is 1-800-799-SAFE. The NYS 24 hour domestic violence hotline is 1-800-942-6906..
