Eagle Scout Honors Veterans Buried At Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
Robert Del Vecchio researched the people buried at the cemetery to find out who served the country.
SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — At 16, Robert Del Vecchio became aware that there were numerous unidentified veterans buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and turned his research into a project for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
The end result was honoring the graves of veterans with American flags.
With the help of cemetery Superintendent Jim Logan, Del Vecchio of Sleepy Hollow worked with the database of the people buried there against Ancestry.com’s veteran site and the United States military archive to determine who had served.
