Eight Reasons Why you Should See "Tim and Scrooge" at the Westchester Broadway Theatre
The sequel to Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is set 12 years later.

Here are eight reasons for seeing “Tim and Scrooge” at the Westchester Broadway Theatre:
1. You know you are in for a happy ending — that’s totally predictable. But what you don’t know is how Tiny Tim, now almost 21, can fix the complete mess he has made of his inheritance.
2. You get to see a theater legend named George Lee Andrews play Ebenezer Scrooge’s frustrated ghost — Andrews was a member of the original cast of The Phantom and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest running actor in the same show (9,382 performances during 23 years). He played André, one of the two owners of the Opera Populaire.
3. The play is for an adult audience — Neil Berg and Nick Meglin’s premise is less likely to appeal to children than Dickens’ immortal story line.
4. Justin Scott Brown plays a dunce (the grownup Tim Cratchit) most convincingly — so much so in fact, it is difficult to understand how beautiful, smart and determined Allison Drake, played by soprano Marissa McGowan, could fall for him.
5. Two eager swindlers bearing a faint resemblance to Abbott and Costello are fun to watch — they manipulate Tiny Tim to the dismay of Scrooge’s ghost but again you know a happy ending is a lock for the plot.
6. There is both humor and drama throughout — much of which is supplied by Tim’s family members.
7. The lyrics are relevant and they help move the plot along.
8. Finally, the menu has a couple of delicious fish entrées: “Broiled Cod Oreganata,” which is the show special, and Tilapia with Crabmeat Stuffing — a generous serving of the fourth most eaten seafood in America according to the National Fisheries Institute (trailing only shrimp, salmon and tuna). Executive Chef Alexandra Sampaio’s cod is topped with bread crumbs, parsley, oregano, parmesan cheese and olive oil and served with roasted potatoes and string beans.
What didn’t I like about the play? That’s easy to answer. Its the printed program — lots of text printed in tiny red print, I wished I had brought a magnifying glass to the theater.
