This is a one day training session that will last approximately six hours and will make you eligible to be a Comfort Zone Camp volunteer. This training will equip you to fill any of our volunteer roles.
The training is held by Comfort Zone staff and will educate you on what our program is and how it helps, supports and impacts grieving children. You will learn everything from how to fill out the application to become a volunteer to
what the camp schedule looks like. This program has been designed to provide you with all the information you should need, and there is plenty of time for additional questions.
Training will start with icebreakers, followed by hearing from previous campers and volunteers about what to expect at camp. At the end of the training volunteers will understand the dos and donts for a Big Buddy and are ready for camp.
If you have not already submitted your background check* and health history forms please bring them with you to the training session. Thank you for volunteering and we look forward to meeting you at training!
*We are charged $25 for every background check. To help us cover this cost we ask that if you are able, please bring a $25 donation.

About Comfort Zone Camp
Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement camp that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. The free camps include confidence building programs and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone Camps are offered to children 7-17, and are held year-round across the Country. We have offices in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Virginia.
