
Wine director Gerard J. Rocco has announced that wine from California's Cakebread Winery will accompany four courses at a special dinner planned by Equus Restaurant in The Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The menu follows:
- Course one. Scallop and Foie Gras with corn pudding, kumquat marmlade. Paired with sauvignon blanc, Cakebread, Napa Valley, 2010
- Course two. Loin of lamb wth crispy pancetta, Swiss chard, apple, lamb a jus. Paired with pinot noir, Cakebread, Anderson Valley, 2009
- Course three. Rock salt and rosemary roasted beef sirloin: oxtail, fregula, broccoli rabe. Paired with caberenet sauvignon, Cakebread "Dancing Bear Ranch," Napa Valley, 2007
- Course four. Blacjberry semifreddo: flourless chocolate cake and anise poached berries. Paired with zinfandel, Cakebread, Lake County, 2008
