If one of your goals this summer is to get fit and healthy, then consider taking part in The Hudson River Swim For Life.
Sleepy Hollow will once again host the annual Hudson River Swim For Life on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow. Approximately 250 swimmers, 100 kayakers, and 25 boaters are expected to take part in this year’s event, which benefits The Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
Swimmers will have the option of completing a three-mile, non-competitive river crossing from Nyack Marina to Kingsland Point Park, or a one-mile, non-competitive swim along the shores of Sleepy Hollow. Participants in these events will be raising funds to support LLS’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

If you’re looking for group training sessions prior to September 15, then look no further than The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training® (TNT) program. Only TNT gives you a team of people and hands-on support for all the things you need to know to achieve your goals.
TNT, the world’s biggest and most successful endurance sports charity training program, provides four to five months of certified coaching, a supportive group of teammates, race apparel, and nutritional advice to help you complete a swim, half marathon, marathon, triathlon, cycling event, or hike adventure. In exchange, participants raise funds to support cancer research and patient services. And if coaching and cheering from teammates still isn’t enough to motivate you, every participant trains in honor of a patient battling leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma.
