Gerald Smith, Veteran and NYPD Officer, Dies
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown.

Gerald Smith, a longtime Tarrytown and Ardsley resident died on Tuesday October 16, 2012. He was 88.
Mr. Smith was born on June 22, 1924 to Gerald and Edna McDonald Smith in the Bronx, NY. He was a World War II Veteran where he served in the United States Army Air Corps. He had retired as an NYPD Officer. He also worked as an Engineer for Metro North Railroad for 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #458 of Ardsley and the BPOE Lodge # 707 of Mt. Vernon.

He is survived by his daughter Catherine and son in law James Appel of Mamaroneck and his granddaughter Jayden Grace Appel. He was predeceased by his wife Grace in 2008 and his son Gerald in 2001.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME INC. in Tarrytown. Funeral Services will be private.
