It gives me great pleasure to announce that Trish Gorman was named this week’s Con Ed Scholar Athlete. Trish, in the last week, has scored 13 goals and had 5 assists against the best private and public schools in the state. She is an outstanding young woman.
Coach Jennifer Leffler on Trish: “Trish is captain in three sports this year -- soccer, basketball and lacrosse. She leads by example. After tearing her ACL during the basketball season last year, Trish played through her junior lacrosse season before getting surgery in July.

She was the leading scorer on the team scoring her 100th and 150th career goal. Despite the fact that she couldn’t play soccer this fall, she was elected captain. She worked hard to be ready to play basketball this winter and was a major part of an undefeated, Ivy League and State Championship season.
Sadly, she tore her other ACL during the semi-final game, yet she is back on the lacrosse field, playing through her injury before she has surgery in June to prepare for her college career at William and Mary.
Trish would not even consider not being a part of her team in any way she can—even postponing her surgery to make sure she has this opportunity. She is a point of inspiration for her teammates as she is consistently the hardest worker on the field. She is the epitome of a sports woman -- caring most about her team.”
If you see her please congratulate her on this great honor.
Thanks,
Jason Edwards,
Hackley Athletics Director
