Grand Marshal Named For Tarrytown St. Patrick's Day Parade

Next year will be the 22nd annual parade.

TARRYTOWN, NY — A World War II veteran has been chosen to be the grand marshal for the 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown. Armando “Chick” Galella, 96, was a private in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Hickam Field in Hawaii when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

Galella will serve as the grand marshal for the 22nd annual parade, the Journal News said.

Recently, he was an honored guest of Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the dedication of the new Tappan Zee Bridge.
