Greenburgh Man Sentenced For Attempted Rape, Assault Of Ex-Girlfriend
When his ex-girlfriend refused to have sex with him, police said, he became enraged.

GREENBURGH, NY — A Greenburgh man will be going to prison for attempted rape and assault of his ex-girlfriend. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Juan Sumba Duchi, 33, of Beech Street in Greenburgh, was sentenced to 12 years in state prison after being found guilty by a jury of the following:
- First-degree attempted rape, a felony
- Second-degree assault, a felony
- Third-degree assault, a misdemeanor
As part of the sentence, Duchi must register as a sex offender prior to his release from prison.
Scarpino said, on or about Dec. 22, 2015, around 10 p.m., Duchi drove his ex-girlfriend to an isolated parking lot on Fisher Avenue in White Plains.

Once there, he demanded she have sex with him.

When the woman refused and begged him to take her home, the defendant became enraged and attacked her, breaking her nose and then attempting to rape her in the car.
She fought him off and managed to get out from under him and escaped the vehicle.
Duchi got to her again and kicked and punched her while she was on the ground.
Police said he stomped on her and broke her collarbone.
A passerby heard her screams and called 911. Two other people in the area came to her aid and pulled Duchi off of her.
Police arrived within minutes and Duchi was taken into custody at the scene.
