How Much Did That Snow Cost Us?
Surprisingly, as of January's end, both villages are under budget.

It was one snow storm after another this season and there may be more to come, but both villages are currently under budget for costs relating to winter weather.
"We're running a little low on salt," said Sleepy Hollow Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio. "But we're under budget even though we still have a month of snow left."
The Village of Sleepy Hollow recently got its last load of 350 tons of road salt. It is the last load of the 1,250 tons that they allocated for the season.

As of Tuesday, they've spent nearly $41,000 on employee overtime, $5,276 on parts and supplies and $62,536 on salt for a total of about $109,000, according to village officials. About $132,000 has been budgeted for this winter.
In Tarrytown, the situation is similar. The village has budgeted $176,000 for the winter season. It has spent $30,748 on overtime, $567 on equipment repair and about $59,500 on salt for a total of $90,858.
