Keep an Eye on the Sky: Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow's Weekend Weather

Clouds are making their way across the Hudson Valley and that means we could get a little wet at times.

And they will be creeping their way across the Hudson Valley in time for a traditionally busy weekend.

There are graduation parties and dance recitals, spring sports tournaments and plays. Patch calendars will show a plethora of scheduled activities. Campers have already reserved sites; hikers are hitting the trails. Several Relay for Life events are on tap for the weekend.

But we’re going to have to pay attention to the sky. The keyword here is “chance” because we could get a little wet at times.

Here is the National Weather Service statewide forecast for southern Westchester County:

  • This Afternoon: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 69. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Calm wind.
  • Saturday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Light and variable wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Sunday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 9am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog before 9am. High near 75. Southeast wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
  • Sunday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog. Low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
