Kindergarten Students Thankful for Their Families and Each Other

Laughter could be heard echoing throughout the halls of John Paulding School (JP) as students excitedly welcomed their families to their classrooms. The little learners sat proudly next to their adults as they showed off their artwork and dined together at the JP Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast.

Principal Maureen Barnett happily greeted families at the celebration and said “The kindergarten feast is an event I look forward to every year because of its ability to bring families together and allow them to share a meal.”

The Thanksgiving Feast at JP is a decades-long tradition that comes at a time when the little learners are gaining insight into other cultures. Their studies focus on how different families come together and prepare various cuisines.

“For some families, this is their first experience with this American tradition, and it's heartwarming to see them join in. The joy and warmth that comes from this gathering is a fantastic way to start the holiday season,” Principal Barnett said.

Students also gain a deeper understanding of the word gratitude and how it is important to be thankful for the food that nourishes their minds and bodies.
