Northbound lanes, which go across the span from Westchester to Rockland, reopened Tuesday around 5:15 p.m., allowing commuters to avoid having to use the Bear Mountain Bridge or the George Washington Bridge.
Later in the evening, two southbound lanes opened in succession.
Bridge inspectors determined that the southern-most lane suffered more damage, both on the surface and underneath the bridge, when the crane boom fell across all six lanes of traffic
There were only minor injuries, Cuomo said, and no cars were hit by the falling crane.
