The Thruway Authority is strongly advising motorists to avoid travel in this area during the scheduled work times.

Pier foundation work near the Rockland shoreline being done at that time will necessitate pile driving during the nighttime hours.

As a result, the Thruway Authority is offering to reimburse hotel expenses for Rockland residents within the zone for noise and vibration, according to lohud.com.
