Letter to the Editor: 'We Need the A Team'
Supports Karin Wompa and the Democratic slate in Sleepy Hollow

To the Editor:
The Village of Sleepy Hollow is at a cross roads which will determine its character and the quality of life of its residents for the future. Integrating the major development at Lighthouse Landing while maintaining the diverse, vibrant culture that makes Sleepy Hollow unique will require a team with leadership, energy, proven skills and integrity.
Karin Wompa and the Democratic slate are that team. As a trustee, Karin implemented the first tax lien sale in ten years, recovering $500,000 owed to the village; she has begun marketing and selling properties on Beekman Avenue to successful merchants who will contribute to our tax base; she has established working relationships with developers, government officials (local, county and state), which are critical to managing this village.

As a professional manager, Karin has selected a first rate team who are up to the challenge of representing our village residents. Trustee Bruce Campbell has a proven track record of accomplishments: he led the rejuvenation of the Halloween program; he is assessing needed improvements in our ambulance corps; he is working with Tarrytown on shared services. Jose Chevere, a lifelong resident of the village, former board member for the village and Phelps Hospital, brings more than twenty years experience in law enforcement and a personal knowledge of the issues important to some of our underrepresented residents. Mary Linder was a senior vice president of brand strategy and communications in several Fortune 100 companies, experience which will be vital in positioning Sleepy Hollow in the future.
We need the A team to lead this village today. Karin Wompa and her running mates—who bring experience, passion and proven track records – are that team.
