Man Drowns in Hudson River Off Tarrytown's Pierson Park
The Sleepy Hollow man was 43 years old.
A 43-year-old Sleepy Hollow man died Friday afternoon while swimming in the waters of the Hudson River off Pierson Park in Tarrytown, according to local police.
The Journal News reports the incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
After swimming out about 50 feet, he went underwater and resurfaced unconscious. He was pulled to shore and later pronounced dead at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.
