The Montrose Trio to Perform in Sleepy Hollow October 24
Trio includes former members of Tokyo String Quartet

Friends of Music Concerts welcomes the Montrose Trio on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Kusel Auditorium at Sleepy Hollow High School, 210 North Broadway (Route 9) at 8pm. Parking is free.
This exciting new ensemble will be making its debut, both in Westchester and on this series. Two former members of the Tokyo String Quartet, violinist Martin Beaver and cellist Clive Greensmith, have been joined by the Canadian pianist Jon Kimura Parker, in order to explore both traditional and new works in the piano trio repertoire.
Named after Chateau Montrose, a storied Bordeaux wine long favored after concerts, The Montrose Trio has quickly established a reputation for performances of the highest distinction. The Washington Post said, in reviewing their appearance at Wolf Trap: “[The Montrose Trio] is an exceptionally fine newcomer on the scene….Their performance delivered absolute top-notch music-making, as fine as one could ever expect to hear…the group made a forceful statement, with loads of personality and nearly perfect technical finish.” Said The Albuquerque Journal, “While all are soloists in their own right, they play as a unit seamlessly with an impeccable sense of ensemble, giving vibrant performances that let each work reveal itself in all it has to say.” Pieces by Beethoven, James Lee, III, and Brahms will be on their program.
