The event will be the first of many lively conversation about America at 250 with some of our country’s leading history scholars. Professors David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman and Beverly Gage will take the stage at the new Wachenheim Center to examine the history of the nation-state and the contested nature of American national identity. Pianist Wu Han, violinist Philip Setzer, and cellist David Finckel opened our 71st season and they are back, renowned for their exceptional chamber music performances. Audiences will recall Finckel and Setzer's long tenure with the legendary Emerson Quartet. Han and Finckel lead the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the Music@Menlo chamber music festival in the San Francisco Bay area. Their all-Schubert program includes the Piano Trio No.1 in Bb Major, Op.99 and the Piano Trio No. 2 in Eb Major, Op.100. Socialize and meet the artists at our post-concert reception.
