'No Turn on Red' Sign to Be Added to Hartsdale Road in Greenburgh

The sign will make it more apparent that turning right on red is not allowed.

The state Department of Transportation will be installing a “No Turn on Red” sign for the Route 1008 eastbound approach to Hartsdale Road.

Supervisor Paul Feiner said the DOT conducted a review of the location and determined it was appropriate for the sign.

The sign will be hung by the DOT’s signal maintenance forces.

Information from the department said the sign should help to address instances of motorists violating the right turn on red prohibition by placing the turn-restriction message near the red signal indicator.
