Officers Injured in Arrest of Sleepy Hollow Man
The defendant allegedly violently struggled with officers as he was being taken into custody.

TARRYTOWN, NY - The Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force, along with the Tarrytown police, arrested a Sleepy Hollow man on assault and weapons charges, which also resulted in the injury of three officers.
Sergeant Harold Young, the force’s commanding officer, said Robert Ramos, 30, of Cortlandt Street, was arrested after short-term investigation and a brief foot chase.
He had allegedly struggled violently with officers and was subdued only after a Taser was used.

Police said a loaded Raven .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun, without a serial number, was allegedly recovered during the arrest.

Three officers were injured while attempting to place the defendant under arrest.
Police said Ramos is a previously convicted felon with a lengthly criminal history.
He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (defaced firearm), second-degree assault and resisting arrest.
Ramos was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail pending his next appearance in court April 6.
More charges are expected due to the task force allegedly recovering about 24 grams of cocaine from Ramos’ residence after his arrest.
