A Pair of Father-and-Son Teams Will Appear at Rini's in Elmsford This Weekend

On Friday night, Pepe Cardona and son Tom will entertain; on Saturday evening, Johnny "B" and son John Christopher will vocalize.

Father-and-son teams will perform on both Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31 at Rini’s Restaurant & Wine Bar in Elmsford.

On Friday at 7:30 p.m., Pepe Cardona, a vocalist, will unite with his son Tom, a guitarist. Pepe was a founding member of Alive N Kickin, a band he created with several friends in a basement in Brooklyn in 1968.

Pepe is best known for the song “Tighter and Tighter,” written by Tommy James, who also wrote “Ball of Fire.” Tighter and Tighter was released in 1970 by Roulette Records and sold more than one million copies.

The group appeared on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand and the Mike Douglas Show; it broke up in 1972 and was revived by Cardona a few years later.
