Phelps Hospital Receives Award Honoring Emergency Department
The Emergency Nurses Association gave the hospital's emergency department its 2021 Lantern Award.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — Phelps Hospital was recently recognized for exceptional performance by a nursing organization.
The Emergency Nurses Association gave the hospital's emergency department its 2021 Lantern Award for demonstrating exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.
Phelps' emergency department is one of only 33 in the United States to receive the distinction.

Mary McDermott, senior vice president for patient care services, said the Lantern Award designation was a reflection of the excellent care and compassion provided by Phelps' emergency department staff.
"I could not be more proud of this deserving group and their commitment to care, especially in light of a global pandemic," she said. "This is truly a beacon of light following a very difficult year."
