Possible Luring Incidents Reported in the Town of Greenburgh

In one instance, the suspect fled the area after a parent approached him.

GREENBURGH, NY — Multiple reports of someone approaching children in Greenburgh last week are being investigated.

Three young people said that on October 6 around 3:40 p.m. they saw a white four-door sedan—possibly a Honda—with a Connecticut license plate, according to information provided by Greenburgh Town Hall.

It was being driven by a 60- to 70-year-old man with white hair and a gray beard. He was wearing sunglasses.

The young people said the car approached them slowly and the man began taking photographs.

Additional incidents happened October 4 and October 5, where a man fitting the same description was seen driving a white van with New York plates.

He was following a young person, but when he was approached by the child’s parent, he fled the area.

Police responded to Stonewall Circle in the Orchard Hill section of town October 7 after a report of a suspicious vehicle.

The incidents are being investigate by Greenburgh Police Special Victims Unit. Anyone with information can contact the Greenburgh Police Department at 914-989-1710.
