Rain Possible Through the Weekend in Tarrytown

This latest system is the best chance in while for much-need rainfall in Somers.

TARRYTOWN, NY — The Hudson Valley is facing the best chance in a while for some extended periods of rain starting Wednesday and likely lasting through the weekend.

The rain is much needed with most of the state under a drought warning and some communities being asked to restrict outdoor watering.

There will be peeks of sun throughout the day Wednesday and clouds will be gradually increasing as the chance for rain moves into the area.

“For now, expect scattered showers and drizzle overnight,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather, “with the heaviest showers west of the Hudson River. The further west you go in the Hudson Valley, the better chance you have of seeing heavier rain showers.”

Potter said that the disturbance which is bringing in the much-needed precipitation will stall, and the rainy conditions could possibly last into the weekend.
