Representative Ro Khanna Endorses Mondaire Jones for Congress
Progressive, Bay Area Representative Ro Khanna backs Mondaire Jones for Congress in NY-17

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — Representative Ro Khanna today endorsed NY-17 Democratic Congressional Candidate Mondaire Jones, citing Mondaire’s progressive voice and commitment to Medicare for All in his endorsement.
"Today, I'm proud and excited to endorse Mondaire Jones,” said Representative Ro Khanna. “Mondaire is the only candidate who supports Medicare for All, a policy our nation needs now more than ever before amidst the Covid-19 crisis. Mondaire understands the urgency of this moment and will be a strong progressive voice for working Americans in Congress."
“As a progressive leader in Congress, Rep. Khanna knows that this country hasn’t worked for working people and I’m proud to receive his endorsement,” said NY-17 Democratic Congressional Candidate Mondaire Jones. “During a public health crisis like this, Rep. Khanna has consistently put working families first and knows that we need big, bold solutions in order to adequately address our nation’s most pressing problems. Even before this crisis, Rep. Khanna was fighting for progressive reforms like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All and I can’t wait to fight alongside him when I’m elected to Congress.”
Mondaire Jones has also been endorsed by U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Rep. Deb Haaland, Rep. Mark Pocan, Rep. David Cicilline, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC, Equality PAC, NY Working Families Party, United Auto Workers, Hispanic Democrats of Westchester, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Democracy for America, The LGBT Victory Fund, The Collective PAC, and more than 40 elected officials and community leaders in Rockland and Westchester Counties. He recently announced that his campaign had raised over $827,000 by the end of the first quarter of 2020. Unlike many of his opponents, Jones is not accepting corporate PAC money in his campaign and has also signed the No Fossil Fuel Pledge. When elected, Mondaire will make U.S. history as the first openly gay, black member of Congress.
