Severe Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain Possible In Hudson Valley Thursday
The National Weather Service updated its Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the region.

It’s still July; it’s still hot and humid. The lower and mid-Hudson Valley have a couple more days of unsettled weather to get through. So along those lines, the National Weather Service early Thursday morning updated Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the region.
The more serious of the outlooks concerns Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.
The NWS said that periods of showers and thunderstorms are likely Thursday and Thursday night, with a continued potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding or urban, poor drainage and low-lying areas with isolated flash fooding as well.

There is also a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms today for areas from Albany south.
Additional periods of showers and thunderstorms are likely through Friday, accompanied by the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding. There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms Friday for much of eastern New York.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, there is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms from Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.
The main threat, according to the NWS, is from damaging winds. There is also a chance for localized flash flooding from late Thursday afternoon through Thursday night.
The chance of flash flooding also exists for Friday into Friday evening.
