Six Massage Parlors Closed in Greenburgh

Close to a dozen were arrested.

Greenburgh police raided six massage parlors over the weekend, shutting down the establishments and arresting 11 people.

The town has sought to crack down on such businesses in recent months, which led to the weekend’s raids.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner told Patch that he is pleased by the police department’s diligence in monitoring the activities of such establishments, which he adds have been havens for prostitution in some instances. An attempt to reach Police Chief Chris McNerney at press time for a comment was unsuccessful.

“Over the years we have received complaints about prostitution taking place at some of the massage parlors,” Feiner said. “I am pleased that the police department is monitoring activities at the massage parlors and hope that the town will pass legislation to provide the police department with more tools to make sure that massage parlors that are operating are not involved in illegal activity. I object to the exploitation of young women.”
