Sleep Away Camps in the New York Area: Summer Camp Directory

These programs offer scenery, adventure and a way for your child to be away from home—while not being too far from home.

When it comes to planning a fun and enriching experience for your children, the many summer camps and programs in Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties offer something for every kind of ability, interest and schedule.

Whether your child can’t get enough baseball, or has a passion for painting, or seeks to be around others who share his or her special condition, there are plenty of camps in our region that cater to those interests.

Here is just a sampling of great options: Programs that specialize in sports or the arts; day camps that are close to home; camps for kids who are theater-mad or crazy about computers; camps that keep academic skills honed over the summer months. Others can be found at the American Camping Association’s website: www.acacamps.org.
