Five-run third inning key to victory.

Five runs in the third inning helped the Sleepy Hollow Horsemen defeat Ossining, 7-1, in softball on Monday.

"That was a great inning," said Sleepy Hollow Head Coach Tony Milewski about his team's stellar play.

Jenny Bucci started it off for the Horsemen with a walk. Later in the productive inning, Shaylin Best, Jamie Bucci, Jen Onwe, and Jessica Campbell all scored runs to put Sleepy Hollow up 4-0. Charlotte Frank's RBI single made it 5-0.

"We played a great game today," Milewski said.

He also said his players played great offense and defense which included two throws by Campbell from third to first  for two outs in the fourth, one of which was a bare-handed throw.

"If we play like that every game we really could be a tough team to beat all the time," he said.

Sleepy Hollow Pitcher Jamie Bucci struck out seven and walked only three in seven innings.

Onwe had a double in addition to her RBI in the third and run scored in the sixth. Frank also had two hits. Jessica Bucci had two RBIs to go along with her key hit in the third.

The Horsemen play at Hastings on Wednesday followed by Keio Saturday.
