2009 Girls Red Fury
2009 Red Fury coached by Katie McMahon lost this week against the Rye Leopards 2-1. The Fury’s passing this week really improved which lead to a beautiful goal by Maiyumi Marcus-Kanesaka which was assisted by Erin Arnegger. Sofia Cruz was strong on defense and the goal work by Charlotte Spiridakis and Erin Arnegger was excellent, but unfortunately the Fury was not able to land another goal. The Red Fury will play against the LMFC White Rockets next Sunday.

2008 Boys Fusion (pictured) hosted the Manhattan Chivas, bringing offensive pressure from the outset. Pierce Davis scored the game's first points thanks to an assist from Ian Papadopoulos. Fusion's offense was able to command much of the half's possession, due in part to good ball movement from Jack Zhunio and Jezrael Panama, each of whom had shots on goal which were blocked by Chivas' keeper. Fusion was able to score again when Sean Mackiewicz was in good position to sneak the ball in to give Fusion the 2-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, a well-placed corner kick from Aiden Lee enabled Justin Paute to launch one over the Chivas goalie's head for the half's only score. Additional attempts by Edwin Dutan and Kieran Degen only just missed their marks. Fusion's defense, thanks to the play of Raul Socualaya and Dylan Pasato, was able to keep Chivas out of scoring territory for much of the game. Dylan Largo played 3 quarters in goal and did an outstanding job, blocking several scoring attempts and notably, two penalty kicks.

2007 Girls Blaze (pictured)
It’s been a fun start to the Spring season with the Blaze (G-07), coached by John Sutherland, Chris Junge and Annette O’Hanlon. Coming off a strong indoor winter season the girls were anxious to get back outdoors, play the larger field and meet some familiar opponents. As we head into May, the Blaze has a 2-1-1 record. The first game was a 2-1 win over the West Side Bulls. Game two was a well played, but difficult 2-0 loss to the Eastchester Red Dragons. In their third game, the girls met the Somers Cosmos for a challenging and physical game and finished with a 4-3 win. This past Sunday, the Blaze hustled for a well earned 3-3 tie against the Chappaqua Cheetahs. The team continues to get stronger and improve, playing more strategically. We look forward to seeing them develop further this season. Next up the Blaze will host the Castleford Lions at Hackley on Sunday, May 5.

2007 Boys Dynamo coached by Howard Allen defeated Larchmont 5-2.

2007 Boys Dutchmen coached by Gairy Fairley defeated Yonkers 7-2.

2006 Girls Storm coached by Kevin Richardson defeated White Plains 5-1.

2006 Boys Warriors coached by Matt Weidner defeated Castleford 2-1.

2005 Girls Cyclones coached by Mike Levine lost 0-2 to Rye Brook.

U13B Boys Legends played newly promoted Somers at a chilly WI Lower, late Sunday. The boys played very nice controlled soccer and had many shots on goal. The Somers keeper played a blinder: making a series of excellent saves and letting just one in; a low cross from Nikhil that Julien popped into the corner. All in all an excellent game, finished off by Nikhil's birthday ice cream sandwiches.

2005 Boys Red Devils coached by Francisco Mendieta tied Yonkers 2-2.

2003 Girls Strikers coached by Matt Evans beat Riverdale 3-2.

2004 Boys River Titans had to forfeit because the did not have enough players available.

2004 Boys Argentina coached by Luis Lewis lost 2-5 to Manhattan.

JV Boys Los Gauchos coached by Luis Lewis defeated Pelham 8-2.

The JV Mustangs climbed into first place of division 1 by defeating the now former first place west side Red Bull’s 3-0. The Mustangs stepped up and compensated for missing star keeper Julia Costa. Recently promoted backup keeper Maya Weitzen and defenders Grace Ryan, Sophie Sylves-Berry, Emma Clarke, and Annie Dineen get credit for the shut-out against an offense averaging more than two goals a game. The first Mustang score was provided by Juliana Largess who took a pass from Annie Dineen, willed the ball through the legs of a Manhattan defender, faked out a second defender, and then beat their keeper with a shot to the far post. The second goal involved a 5 girl combination starting with keeper Maya launching a ball to midfield as Annie shielded the defender from blocking her blast. Juliana received the ball and smartly passed it back to Arianna Vizcaino. Juliana then headed to the right while Britany Alban moved into her space. Arianna quickly connected with Britany with the help of Annie’s vocal leadership and Britany turned and sent a beautiful through ball to the racing Juliana. Juliana then beat her defender to the end line and placed a cross that Sophia Khosrowshahi one touched into the left net past the keeper. The third goal was scored when Britany made space at the Red Bull 18 yard line and sent a pass to the right toward Juliana who fought and deflected it to Abigail Oppenheim. Abigail only needed a little room and a split second to touch the ball to the left and power a left footed shot through the keepers outstretched hands in the right net.
