Boys Basketball, Jan. 11
The Headless Horsemen improved their record to 8-2 with a 72-69 victory over Saunders High School on Monday. Justin Best led the game in scoring with 28 points. Jonathan Martin scored 20, Bobby Small had 11, and Jorge Berenguer added 8.
The Horsemen face their toughest challenge of the season when they play Woodlands High School at home, today at 6 p.m.

Girls Basketball, Jan. 11
The Sleepy Hollow Girls Basketball team improved their record to 6 - 3 on the season by beating Saunders Monday by a score of 47 - 43.
Kerry Oliveira was the player of the game for the Horsemen with 15 points to lead all scorers. She also added 12 rebounds. Kelly Bender was solid as well hitting 4 of her 7 shots for 8 points. Jamie Bucci had an all around solid game with 7 points, 8 assists, 8 steals & 5 rebounds. Tauress Cambell also contributed with 15 rebounds, 6 points, 5 blocks, 2 steals & an assist.

The girls look to improve on their 2 - 0 league record and play today at Woodlands High School at 4:30 p.m..
Boys JV Basketball, Jan. 11
On Monday, the JV Horsemen defeated a talented Saunders team.
The Horsemen were led by Christian Berenguer with a season-high 26 points. Ronnie Rodriguez added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort.
The JV Horsemen continue their 8-0 record with a game today against Woodlands at 4:15 p.m. in the McCleery Gymnasium.
Boys Track, Jan. 10
The boys track team competed in the League II-B Championships on Sunday.
Christian Zhinin placed fifth in the 1000m run with a personal record, and new sophomore school record, of 2:57. Gadi Langsam also ran a personal best in the 1000m.
The entire sprinting crew ran personal records in the 55m dash. Leading the way were Kevin Clark (7.1), Mike Valentin (7.1) and Armando Carbrera (7.2).
The boys 800m relay team placed second and received All-League Honorable mention. They were; Armando Cabrera, Kevin Clark, Mike Valentin and Matt Caserin.
The 1600m relay team placed third. They were; Alex Berger, John Pardo, Hernan Pena and Gadi Langsam.
Jack Schnog placed 6th in the mile in a personal best time of 5:40.
Girls Track, Jan. 10
The girls' track team had an outstanding performance at Sunday's league meet.
Kathy Perez received All League for the shot put. Gillian Berger received All League and a personal best in the 55m dash. Gillian also received All League honorable mention for the 300m and the 800m relay. Freshman Maddy McGovern received All League and a personal best in the 1500m. Sophomore, Katherine Doyle also received All League for the 3000m run. Gabby Maldonado, Gabby Cellante and Bobbie Shortell all received All-League honorable mention for the 800m relay.
Wrestling, Jan. 12
On Tuesday, the Sleepy Hollow wrestling team traveled to White Plains High School, where they defeated White Plains by a score of 59-16.
Sleepy Hollow set a high scoring pace winning all but one of their matches by pin. Captain Jay Concepcion had a great match, wining with ease, and showing terrific skill. He won his match by tech fall – which is the stoppage of the match when a wrestler goes ahead by at least 15 points.
Other great matches include Frank Curanaj who showed his ability to bounce back from a tough loss by pinning his last opponent.
The Sleepy Hollow Wrestling team has their next match on Thursday at Mahopac High School.
Wrestling, Jan. 11
On Monday, the Sleepy Hollow wrestling team traveled to neighboring town, and rival school, Ossining. There has been a long history between the two schools in regards to athletics, but lately Sleepy Hollow has dominated in the sport of wrestling.
On Monday, nothing changed. The Horsemen defeated Ossining by a score of 58-24. Sleepy Hollow got out to an early lead, winning their first six matches.
However, Ossining wasn't going down without a fight, winning the next four matches to bring the score to 31-24 in favor of Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy then closed the match winning five in a row. Sleepy Hollow had great performances from all wrestlers, in particular Tim Rachlin who wrestled a weight class up and was able to pin his opponent in just 19 seconds. Ben Hofling wrestled with an injured thumb, and was still able to secure the victory.
Other key matches include Captain Peter Delmonaco who managed to pull off the win in an exciting overtime thriller, and Dondrey Sharrock who handily defeated his opponent by pin in the second period.
Congratulations to head coach Brian Tompkins, assistant coach Randy Rodriguez, and assistant to the assistant coaches Roniel Bencosme and Jean Patino, on a great job preparing the wrestlers for the match.
