Sprain Brook Parkway 'DASH Initiative' Leads To Parolee's Reckless Driving Arrest After Chase: NYSP
The Connecticut man and a passenger tried to flee on foot, but were soon captured with help from Town of Greenburgh police.

GREENBURGH, NY — A traffic safety initiative on two notorious Westchester highways has already netted a big fish, according to NYSP.
The New York State Police say that a parolee was arrested after a reckless driving incident and police pursuit during the District Attorney's Safer Highway (DASH) initiative, a collaboration between the Westchester County DA's Office and NYSP to increase patrols on I-684 and the Sprain Brook Parkway during the month of February.

On Tuesday, around 4:16 p.m., members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit, while assigned to the DASH initiative, tried to stop a 2025 Chevrolet near mile marker 7.6 on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway, in the town of Greenburgh, for several traffic violations. However, the driver failed to comply, leading to a short pursuit.

"Highway safety and the preservation of public order are core values of the New York State Police, and this initiative reflects our shared responsibility to protect law-abiding motorists while addressing the very real dangers that aggressive and reckless driving creates for both the public and the Troopers who patrol these corridors every day," NYSP said about the DASH initiative.
