Taco Bell withdraws proposal for Central Ave

significant community opposition led to withdrawal

Taco Bell has withdrawn their application to convert the Honey Baked Ham building at 57 N. Central Avenue into a 24-hour Taco Bell drive thru. Residents who live near the four corners in Hartsdale actively opposed the application before the Greenburgh Zoning Board.

Residents objected to increased traffic, a 24 hour round the clock business that would have brought “constant car noise, headlights, and late-night activity just feet from homes. They also raised concerns about safety, traffic congestion, and the overall livability of their neighborhood.

In a letter to the Greenburgh Zoning Board the applicant “recognizes that the proposal has generated public concern and emotional reaction from nearby residents. In light of that dynamic, and after careful consideration, the Applicant has elected to withdraw this specific project Application at this time.”
