Tarrytown Commuters Could Face Crowds if NJ Trains Stoppage Happens

A limited shuttle bus service will be operated from points in New Jersey to Tarrytown.

Commuters using the Tarrytown Metro-North Station could be impacted by the possible NJ Transit work stoppage.

Information released by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said that if the stoppage happens there will be no passenger train service in New Jersey.

Metro-North will be offering customers of the Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines limited travel alternatives.

MTA/Metro-North will be providing limited shuttle bus service for Metro-North customers from the Harriman Station and Palisades Center Park and Ride in West Nyack to the Tarrytown Station on the Hudson Line.

That could mean more crowded trains and long commute times, the MTA warns.

The limited bus service will be offered only during rush hours for peak direction travel.
