Tarrytown To Hold Information Meeting On Legalized Pot
The session will feature Wade Beltramo, New York Conference of Mayors' general counsel, who will give an overview of changes in the law.
TARRYTOWN, NY — The village of Tarrytown will hold a public information session on marijuana legalization.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the village hall, but will also be accessible via Zoom.
Village officials said the session will feature Wade Beltramo, general counsel for the New York Conference of Mayors, who will provide a 15- to 20-minute overview of the changes in cannabis laws in the state.

Specifically, the meeting will cover topics that impact local governments including the following:
- Where marijuana can be smoked now and how it can be regulated in public.
- Options of municipality to opt in or out of sales and on-site consumption bars.
- Deadlines for which opt-out decision must be made.
- Sales tax revenue implications for village.
- If we opt-in, how zoning might work in that context.
- How the state is going to regulate marijuana dispensaries and on-site consumption sites.
- What a dispensary actually looks like.
There will be n opportunity for the public to make general comments concerning the issue.
