Tarrytown Lakes Trail to be Restored
The Old Putnam Railroad trail at Wilson Park will be restored and extended in a bid awarded by the Tarrytown Board on Monday.

Luna Landscape Corp. of West Harrison won a $176,406 contract to restore and extend the Old Putnam Railroad trail at Wilson Park, running south from Tower Hill Road to the Ice Skating Shack.
Money for the project, which will include signs that relate the history of the lakes and railroad, will come from a $100,000 state grant, matching funds from the village and a $10,000 grant from Greenway Trails.
Luna nosed out the low-bidder, Westchester Hills Landscaping Inc., also of West Harrison, after the board declared the latter firm “non-responsive” to “an integral part of the bid” requirements, by failing to acknowledge additional bidding specs.

In an unrelated action, the board also rejected a lone bid for a three-wheel broom street-sweeper, so it will be rebid.
