TARRYTOWN, NY — The mayor Tarrytown has resigned his position, and the deputy mayor will be assuming his duties. Mayor Drew Fixell submitted his resignation Wednesday.

Deputy Mayor Tom Butler, as acting mayor, will appoint an acting deputy mayor and someone to fill the vacant trustee position, The Hudson Independent reported.

Fixell said he and his wife will take over full-time care of their two infant grandchildren, as the children's mothers return to work after being on maternity leave.
