TARRYTOWN, NY — Tarrytown Water System customers will be a 5 percent water rate increase.
The village of Tarrytown Board of Trustees approved the increase at its Monday meeting, according to an email.
The increase will be in the next water billing cycle.

Village officials said the rate blends various expense increases over the past two years. The last increase to water rates was in 2019.
New York City, which controls the water supply and supply rates, adopted an 8.822 percent increase in water rates in June. Additionally, the state pension system required a 16 percent increase in contributions from the village of Tarrytown.

In Tarrytown, the village had a 4 percent increase in salaries and benefits.
The village also requires funds to cover capital costs for ongoing water system repairs and major capital rehabilitation projects.
