The second session, a field trip to nearby Rockefeller Preserve State Park, will provide attendees with an opportunity to apply the techniques learned in the classroom. The 1,500-acre park offers a variety of habitats and is generally considered to be the best local spot for finding bluebirds and Pileated woodpeckers.
The birder program, identified as Class Number 5687 in the college's catalog CE-SCI 2013VA, will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on June 4 and 11.
