Tarrytown Schools To Celebrate Kindness Month In March

Students are encouraged to perform an act of kindness each day.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — The Tarrytown schools will spend March observing and celebrating Kindness Month.

According to information on the district’s website, activities will include a Kindness Day kick-off on March 1 at Sleepy Hollow High School.

Students will sign pledges to “Spread the Word to End the Word,” referring to a disparaging word for someone with a disability.

The theme for the month is “It’s Cool to be Kind,” and Kindness walls will be decorated. Students are encouraged to perform an act of kindness each day.

The month will culminate in “Light It Up Blue Day,” a campaign centered around autism awareness.
