Tarrytown Sets Fire Hydrants Flushing Schedule
Residents are advised that they should let a faucet run until the discoloration goes away after the flushing process is over.
TARRYTOWN, NY — The Village of Tarrytown will perform fire hydrant flushing beginning Monday, June 17. The hydrant flushing will be conducted between 7 p.m. and midnight weekdays through Friday, June 28.
Howard D. Wessells Jr., the superintendent of public works for the village, said that during these hours residents may experience low water pressure and or discolored water.
After midnight the water pressure will return to normal but the discolored water may continue, he said.

If residents have discolored water after 7 a.m. they should let a faucet run until the discoloration goes away, which could take up to one half hour.
If the discoloration continues or low water pressure is still being experienced, call the Water Department at 914-631-0356 and leave a message.
