The 2011-12 Hackley boy's basketball team was tasked with arguably the toughest schedule in the area, and the team did their best to compete at a high level in all contests, placing third in both the Sleepy Hollow Tournament and Hackley’s Dan DiVirgilio Tournament to start the season.

Despite a demanding league schedule the team did its best to be a formidable opponent and ended its season on a high note, beating Friends Seminary in the Coaches v. Cancer Tournament at Manhattan College.
Vermont Advances
Sandro Carissimo (Sleepy Hollow-Iona Prep '10) and his University of Vermont teammates advanced to the second round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament with a 71-59 victory over Lamar in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament.
The win is the Catamounts' second NCAA victory in school history, as Vermont now advances to the second round where it will face No. 1 seed North Carolina in the Midwest Region today in Greensboro, N.C. at approximately 4:10 p.m. on TBS.
