Because of the new coronavirus pandemic, the market will be held outdoors during the winter in the parking lot of Tarrytown Recreation Community Center, 240 West Main St.

Organizers said the inaugural winter season will feature about 25 weekly and rotating vendors offering produce, meat, bread, cheese, pantry staples, wine and spirits and specialty items.

Vendors will include familiar ones such as Bien Cuit, Chaseholm Farm Creamery, Deep Roots Farm, JD Farms, Majestic Farms and Thousand Leaf Gardens, as well as a few new vendors like Abandoned Hard Cider, Berry Brook Farm and Hodgins Harvest Mushrooms.

Suzanne Sorrentino, TaSH co-founder and co-president, said there is an immense need in the community for fresh, local food and a safe, socially distanced outdoor shopping experience.

"We are so pleased that The TaSH can now offer the community a year-round farmers market that prioritizes safety particularly during the challenging time for our small businesses," she said.

The market will continue to offer a variety of food assistance programs including its SNAP "Double Bucks" program which doubles SNAP benefits up to $40. WIC checks that support new mothers and senior farmers market coupons that support low-income seniors are also accepted. Veterans are also able to obtain FreshConnect coupons valued at $20 through their Veterans office to spend at the market.
